119:Rajat Patidar batting in RCB'

Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Rajat Patidar is certainly knocking the doors ahead of IPL 2021. The 27-year-old, who was bought by the franchise for INR 20 lakh in the auction, was in sensational form in the domestic circuit. The right-handed batsman has now taken his form into the RCB training sessions as he smashed a scintillating century in an intra-squad practice match.

Patidar continues his impressive form

RCB's new signing Rajat announced his arrival to the franchise with a brilliant half-century in the first practice match. However, Patidar went a step ahead in the next game as he played a brilliant knock of 104 runs off 49 deliveries.

High-scoring practice match for RCB

Apart from Patidar, there were a few other players also who impressed in the contest. While Shahbaz Ahmed played a brilliant 95-run knock, KS Bharat and Glenn Maxwell contributed with explosive cameos. Dan Christian and Navdeep Saini were among the wickets in what was a thrilling high-scoring contest.

Post his brilliant century, Patidar received a huge round of applause from the team management and the players after his knock. RCB's coach Simon Katich was certainly impressed with the heroics of the 27-year-old. While it was only a practice match, the contest was played quite competitively and hence, it was indeed a praise-worthy knock.

After such an emphatic match, RCB's team management will certainly have to make a few tough calls with regard to the team selection for their opening match against Mumbai Indians. As Devdutt Padikkal is set to miss the contest, it could just be the right opportunity for RCB to give an IPL debut to the in-form Rajat Patidar.
