The moment Hardik Pandya walked out to bat on Saturday against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), it was a known fact that something special will be needed to send him back to the pavilion. But the question was who will do it for KKR? Rinku Singh raised his hand.
The man who was included in the playing eleven for his first game this season took his job to punch stunners straightaway. The way Pandya was toying with KKR bowlers, his stay till the end could have hurt KKR very much. But Rinku Singh did not let it happen as he covered a significant amount of ground to complete Hardik's catch.
On the second delivery of the 18th over, Southee bowled an off-cutter into the pitch. Pandya tried to take it on and dispatch it into the deep midwicket stands. But with no pace on offer, Pandya could not time the shot and the ball went up in the air.
Rinku Singh who was standing at the boundary ropes showed great intensity to run in and collect the ball inches off the ground and send back Pandya.

Hardik Pandya shines, again!
Coming to the captain's knock played by Hardik Pandya, it was another fine display of batting by the Gujarat skipper where he anchored the innings. Pandya played his shots whenever he got an opportunity. His intent was right on top from the first ball he faced. The batter departed after scoring a 49-ball 67. Pandya hit four boundaries and two sixes in his innings.
This was his third half-century of the season. Before this Pandya scored two half-centuries in his last two matches against CSK and RR. Pandya has so far scored 295 runs in the six games he has played. He is only behind Jos Buttler in the Orange cap's race.
