Rishabh Pant loves playing in and against England and he has shown it with his numbers. After scoring his maiden Test century against England in 2018, Rishabh Pant now scored his maiden ODI hundred against England. Pant’s century came in the much-needed run chase when the top order failed to deliver.

India were in all sorts of trouble after losing Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli in quick succession. However, Rishabh Pant stayed still at the crease with an intention to win the game no matter what. The wicketkeeper batter did not even flinch once in his stance despite England bowlers trying many tactics to bowl the batter out.

Rishabh Pant kept on building his innings with his fiery shots. Slowly and steadily, the batter reached his maiden ODI hundred with a single off Craig Overton. Pant nonchalantly pulled a short ball from Overton towards the deep midwicket region to get to his first-ever century in the 50-over format. After reaching the three-figure mark, Pant simply took off his helmet and acknowledged the applause from his teammates and the spectators.

Pant's masterclass!

It was an inning of ages from a special player. With wickets tumbling at one end and big guns failing to step up once again, it seemed India will once again fall short of England's target of 260 runs. However, Rishabh Pant stood like a mountain in front of England bowlers and kept India in the hunt. The southpaw played some outrageous shots (which seem pretty normal to him) and saw India home with a boundary.

Pant scored an unbeaten 125 off just 113 balls to script history. With this knock, the 24-year-old became only the second Indian wicketkeeper after Rahul Dravid to score a century in ODIs in England.
