The 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer recently posted a video where he is seeing doing some high-intensity speed-related exercises. The Swiss international has been out of professional tennis since the 2020 season as has he had double surgery on his troubled right knee and played just five events in 2021.

Possible US Open return

In March, Federer gave an update on his injury and the star player could return towards the 'end of the summer, early autumn'. He said,  "It's fine. Much better, obviously, I was on crutches for two months so you have to start from the bottom. It will certainly be a while”. “The end of the summer, early autumn, where I'm aiming for a comeback," Federer clarified.

With these comments, Federer could be playing in the US Open, where he has won five years in a row. The tournament usually starts at the end of August. The 40-year-old is also looking to get ready for September’s Laver Cup, with Team Europe. He will face Team World at London’s O2 Arena. Federer will team up with a friend and rival Rafael Nadal who are part of the team at the event.
