As the Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals in their last game of the season, a massive roar of cheer erupted in the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp set 18 km away. The five-time IPL champions were chasing a total of 160 and the entire RCB squad was glued to the screens as this MI win would eliminate DC and help Bangalore qualify for the playoffs.

The game went right down the wire as Mumbai needed 46 runs in the last four overs when former RCB player Tim David smashed a quick-fire 34 runs in 11 balls with four sixes and two fours to bring MI at the brink of winning.

Then it was the uncapped player Ramandeep Singh who hit 13 in six balls and sealed victory for Mumbai. As Singh’s last shot crashed into the short third man boundary, the entire RCB squad jumped in adulation as they qualified for their third straight playoffs.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore Instagram account also made a post with a bunch of pictures from the screening of the MI -DC game where all the players were celebrating. The post was captioned, "ABSOLUTE SCENES! ❤️?? The team had so much fun cheering for @mumbaiindians tonight!"

Former RCB captain Virat Kohli also tweeted thanking the Mumbai Indians for helping them qualify and said, “✈️ Kolkata @mipaltan ? @RCBTweets. ”

After the match, Tim David addressed how RCB captain Faf du Plessis texted him a picture where other Bangalore players like Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell wore MI jersey. He said, “I got a message from Faf this morning - it was a picture of him, Maxi and Virat all in MI kit, maybe I’ll get to post that on Instagram later. (On review not taken) I heard a noise but I wasn’t sure, but when they didn’t review, I thought let’s crack on, that’s how the game is.”
