Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) locked horns in the fifth match of IPL 2022 at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Rajasthan put a mammoth total of 210/6 in their quota of 20 overs on the back of some brilliant power-hitting from their batters. The bowlers too started really well for the Royals as Trent Boult removed SRH captain Kane Williamson early in the innings.

But the wicket would not have been possible without some exceptional fielding effort from Sanju Samson and Devdutt Padikkal. After Boult induced an outside edge from Williamson, the ball seemed to be going past Sanju Samson at a rapid pace. The RR wicketkeeper also stretched towards his right to grab the ball but only managed a tickle off his fingers.

The ball stated dying on Devdutt Padikkal but he was alert enough to dive forward and complete the catch. The on-field umpire did not take a chance and referred it to the third umpire who looked convinced and gave the decision in RR's favor.

After RR batters, bowlers also make SRH's life tough

This was the first of many great moments Rajasthan had on the field while bowling on Tuesday evening. After posting a mammoth 210/6 in their quota of 20 overs, RR bowlers put pressure on SRh batters from the ball go. While Trent Boult removed Kane Williamson, Prasidh Krishna also struck in his second over to account for Rahul Tripathi. Wickets kept coming for RR as they shortly Nicholas Pooran in the fifth over.

It was once again Trent Boult with his magical swinging delivery as he caught Pooran plumb in front of the three sticks. These three quick wickets from RR quicks completely derailed SRH's chase as they registered the join lowest total in the powerplay. Hyderabad's batting woes continued even after the end of the powerplay overs as Yuzi Chahal removed Abhishek Sharma in his first over in the innings. In no time, SRH found them reeling at 37/5 in 10.2 overs.
