There are small battles within a bigger contest of a cricket match that people look forward to seeing. The more even the fight between the bat and ball, the better it is for the game and the spectators. The same was evident during the 18th over of the Rajasthan Royals' innings during their match against Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Friday.

While much of the Rajasthan innings was about the centurion Jos Buttler and his opening partner Devdutt Padikkal, captain Sanju Samson also had a brief but important role to play in it. The 18th over was faced completely by Samson and while he got hit on the helmet in the first ball of the over itself being bowled by Delhi Capitals, the Kerala cricketer made sure he had the last laugh by smashing 20 runs off the next balls.

Here is the video:

Khaleel then had a chance to dismiss Samson after he got the batter to top edge one and positioned himself underneath the ball. However, the left-arm pacer could not grab the catch in what was already not the best evening for Delhi Capitals as a fielding and bowling unit.
