The matches between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2022 have been absolute thrillers with the game going down the wire. While the first game was a high-scoring thriller, the second game was a low-scoring game. After putting 152 on the board, RR bowlers made the chase hard for KKR with some disciplined bowling.

The RR bowlers kept striking at regular intervals but a partnership between Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana sealed the deal for the Knights. With the game getting intense, RR captain Sanju Samson was feeling the nerves and clear frustration was seen on his face whenever a call went against his team.

He was so frustrated by the calls made by the on-field umpires that he opted for a DRS just to check if a wide ball call was made right or not. Although he asked the third umpire to check for a caught behind, everyone in the stadium knew it was for the wide ball call the on-field umpire had made.

Royals lose second game on the trot

This frustration of Sanju Samson was understandable as RR lost their second game on the trot. The reason for their two defeats in a row has been almost the same, fewer runs on the board to defend. At the end of both the games, Sanju Samson pointed out that RR fell short by a few runs which cost them the game.

"The wicket was a bit slow, but they also bowled really well but with the kind of batting we had, would have liked a few more boundaries at the end and finish off a bit better. I think we were short by 15-20 runs," said Samson post RR's defeat to KKR. Notably, RR scored 152 in their 20 overs with Sanju Samson being the highest scorer for them (54 off 49 balls).
