“Don’t jinx it”, is the most common phrase used by cricket fans when they are watching the sport and supporting their favourite team. Many times we have seen commentators praising a cricketer and the batsman getting out the next ball. But what if a cricketer jinxes himself? A similar incident was seen on the cricket field during the PSL final.

Shoaib Malik jinxes himself

Chasing a mammoth target of 207 in the final, the Pakistani veteran was looking in great form when he started hitting the Multan Sultans’ bowlers out of the park. Malik reached the 40- run mark in no time and was looking threatening. During the time-out after the 14th over, Malik was asked about his strategy to chase down the target, to which he replied- "The goal is to finish the job. And I'm going to do that."

But an over later, the batsman’s innings came to an end as he holed out to deep square while trying to play a hook shot. Malik, who was on 47 before the time-out, could only add only 1-run to his score and was dismissed by Sohail Tanvir on 48.

The team collapsed post the wicket of Malik and was restricted to 159/9 in the 20 overs, giving Multan Sultans their maiden PSL title.

One more reason to say, Don’t Jinx It!
