The much-anticipated game of the Indian Premier League (IPL), RCB vs KKR, is underway at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. With so much of hype around the game, every action on the field is watched closely and if someone makes even a small contribution, the team's fans admire it forever. Shreyas Iyer, the new captain of the Knights, started his IPL 2022 campaign in style. His team beat defending champions CSK in their first game.
KKR walked into the second game high on confidence and so did their captain Shreyas Iyer. It reflected in Iyer's first shot after arriving to the crease. The KKR captain opened his account with a boundary on the first ball he faced and that too with a glorious cover drive. Akash Deep, who dismissed Venkatesh Iyer, erred in his length and fed a full-length delivery to Iyer who drove it with utmost ease to send the ball racing to the ropes.

Shreyas Iyer's Kolkata had a terrible start to their innings as they lost three quick wickets inside the powerplay. The first one to depart was Venkatesh Iyer who looked helpless against a climbing delivery from Akash Deep. The all-rounder could only manage a thin edge as the ball ballooned up in the air to be only caught by the bowler.
Shortly after Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane too fell prey to a short delivery from Siraj. Faf du Plessis had a man set at deep midwicket for that pull shot from Rahane. After both the openers were dismissed, Nitish Rana joined the captain in the middle and started his innings with a bang. Rana dispatched the short delivery from Akash Deep into the stands. He also hit a four off a free-hit delivery. But his innings was cut short by Deep with another short ball but a tad higher.
