After conceding 188 in their 20 overs, Gujarat Titans were dealt with a blow as in-form Wriddhiman Saha lost his wicket in the very first over. Shubman Gill and Matthew Wade, however, played some counterattacking shots in the middle to help GT recover. Both the batters were looking so good in the middle as they were taking every RR bowler to the cleaners.

They also stitched a quick half-century partnership for the second wicket. But a mix-up between Wade and Gill cost the latter’s wicket. In the 8th over of GT innings, Shubman Gill nudged a harmless ball from R Ashwin towards deep midwicket. The batter sensed a double and thus ran straightaway.

However, Wade saw Devdutt Padikkal charging at the ball and thus pulled out. Meanwhile, Gill was halfway down the pitch, and till the time he could return safely, Shimron Hetmyer had dislodged the bails. The batter looked utterly disappointed with the dismissal.

Gujarat stay in the hunt!

After this unlucky dismissal for Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade also perished to a short delivery from Obed McCoy. However, these two blows did not hold the Hardik Pandya-led side from playing their attacking game. The captain himself took the initiative of scoring quick runs as he raced to 37 off 23 balls.

He found an able partner in David Miller who took the attack to RR's most dangerous bowler, Yuzvednra Chahal. Miller forced Cahal to bowl in his arc and then kept smashing the leggie. Both these batters put on a quick partnership to ensure Gujarat stay in the hunt.
