South Africa vice-captain Chloe Tryon displayed a spectacular piece of fielding on Sunday during the match against India Women in ICC Women’s World Cup 2022. Tryon’s extraordinary catch dismissed Smriti Mandhana in 32nd over of the first innings. Mandhana was batting really well but Tryon’s superb catch brought Mandhana’s innings to a halt.

Tryon grabbed the catch in the 32nd over of the Indian innings. Masabata Klaas was bowling and Mandhana made some room and tried to loft the ball over mid-off but she did not get enough power behind the shot. Tryon flew towards her right and stunned Mandhana with her splendid diving catch.

Watch the catch here:

Mithali Raj, Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana scored half fluent centuries and Harmanpreet Kaur made 48 as India put up a total of 274/7 on the board. Half-centuries from Mandhana, Verma and Raj went in vain as South Africa chased down 275 off the last ball of the match.

Mignon Du Preez stayed till the very end to lead her side to victory. The loss meant India failed to qualify for the semi-finals as West Indies edged them in the points table by one point. Australia, South Africa, England, West Indies qualified for the final four and will play in the semis.
