The third and final ODI between India and Sri Lanka has lived up to the expectations so far. While it all started with Shikhar Dhawan's first-ever toss win as India captain, the match was evenly poised by the end of the 23rd over of the Indian innings. From Dhawan's thigh-five after getting the coin land in his favour to Suryakumar Yadav's survival, Team India have definitely been blessed with the lady luck in the game.

However, the misfortune and some early excitement from the Sri Lankan players saw a hilarious moment taking place on the ground. The drama happened in the 23rd over of the Indian innings. On the very first ball of the over, Jayawickrama bowled a full delivery to Suryakumar Yadav, who missed the ball while attempting a sweep shot on it. The ball struck the pads of the Indian batter and a loud appeal from Sri Lankan players saw umpire Kumar Dharmasena raising his finger.

However, Surya decided to take a review and later the replay revealed that the ball had struck him outside the line of the stumps on off side. Given that the batsman had offered the shot, it had to be ruled not out. Certainly ignorant about the rules at the time, the Sri Lankan players started celebrating in happiness as soon as they saw tracker showing that the ball would have hit the stumps. Seeing their celebration, Surya too walked towards the pavilion and Hardik Pandya, the next batsman started coming out to bat. Later, the TV umpire directed Dharmasena to reverse his decision to not out.
