For hosts, Dinesh Chandimal was the star performer as he smashed his 13th Test hundred in the first innings. While Chandimal played a sensational knock at Galle International Stadium, one of his maximum went on to hit a boy walking away outside the stadium.

It all happened in the 179th over when Mitchell Starc bowled a length delivery outside off the stump, but Dinesh Chandimal who was looking to go after every Australia bowler went for a maximum over mid-wicket. While, the crowd and dressing room was giving a standing ovation to the former Sri Lankan skipper for his incredible knock, the ball went outside the ground and hit a boy who was strolling around with his friends.
