The sixteenth installment in the Ratchet & Clank series - Rift Apart - is set to release for PlayStation 5 on June 11, 2021. With only a few days left for the launch of the game, the excitement and buzz is increasing with the fans wanting to know more details about the third-person shooter platform game developed by Insomniac Games. After it had been confirmed that the game will feature a new stand-alone storyline to appeal to the newcomers, the latest trailer gives a deeper understanding of how the game is set up.
Details about the game
The story is set up in a way where the antagonist of the game, Doctor Nefarious has stolen a malfunctioning Dimensionator, which is capable of opening rifts into other dimensions. In simple words, this could help him fulfill his dream of completely destroying organic life in the universe. The protagonists of the game are Ratchet and Clank who are there to protect. The game will also have a new female Lombax Rivet who will join them in their exciting adventures in the bid to win against the evil.
The recently-launched trailer also showcased new elements like Pocket Dimensions and Clank Puzzles, while featuring a lot of unique characters. The most exciting part about the new game will be the addition of some new lethal weapons like The Enforcer, Lightning Rod, Cold Snap, and Ricochet. For the players who have played the previous parts, they will be delighted to have one of the most nostalgic weapons in the game - Buzz Blades.
