Glenn Maxwell is a dynamic player to watch out and he carries huge expectation of fans whenever he steps on the cricket field. At present, he is leading Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League and has already scored a century in the current edition. Despite his good performance, Melbourne Stars are struggling to do well in the tournament as the team is currently at sixth position with 10-points.

Stars have so far played seven matches in the tournament and could only manage to register three wins, and have as many losses. However, Melbourne Stars recorded a 8-wicket victory over Brisbane Heats on January 16. While chasing the target of 149 runs, Stars won due to Joe Clarke's 62 and Maxwell's 37 off 30 balls, followed by a scintillating cameo from Hilton Cartwright (16 off 7) and Marcus Stoinis (29 off 10). As a result, they were able to finish the game in mere 13.5 overs.

However, prior to second innings, Glenn Maxwell stole the show with his incredible one hand catch to dismiss Lachlan Pfeffer.  Maxwell sent everyone in awe on the fourth ball of 16th over when Pfeffer tried to hit the ball out of the boundary line, but Maxwell chased the ball and had to make a dive backwards to get the grab over ball, followed by a few back-flips. Maxwell's effort surprised everyone and himself too. After completing the catch, Maxwell put his hand over his mouth as he couldn’t believe that he had pulled it off.

His video of taking that fabulous catch was widely circulated with few terming Maxwell as 'Super Maxwell.'
