The first Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe produced a heated clash between players from the two sides. At Lunch on Day 2, Bangladesh have put up 404 runs on board for the loss of eight wickets with Mahmudullah and Taskin Ahmed at the crease. They are in command of this game after Taskin Ahmed brought up his maiden Test half-century in the first session of the second day, while Mahmudullah brought up his 5th Test hundred.

The two players batted the entire session without losing a wicket, scoring 110 runs in 24 overs in the process. Their partnership is already 134.

Just before lunch, Zimbabwe’s fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani and Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed were involved in a heated clash that saw both the players coming face-to-face. The fast bowler bowled a bouncer aimed at Taskin which was let go through to the keeper. After letting the ball go, Taskin broke out a dance move. Muzarabani did not like this and went straight up to him and the duo exchanged a few words after coming face-to-face.

Mominul, Liton and Mahmudullah help Bangladesh reach a good total

At one point on Day 1, Bangladesh were reeling at 132/6. But wicket-keeper Liton Das and all-rounder Mahmudullah stabilised their innings with a 138-run partnership. Das was dismissed for 95, while Mahmudullah went on to reach triple figures. Bangladesh are now in a good position and with 8 down for 404, a declaration might be just around the corner.
