It has been some commitment from Virat Kohli towards Royal Challengers Bangalore as he readies himself to play his 200th game for them today. Kohli has been an integral part of RCB since the inception of IPL in 2008 and here he is in 2021, after 13 years, still playing for them. Kohli took the leader’s role for RCB in 2013 and has never looked back since. Kohli will look to make this day memorable when he will take the field against KKR.

On his 200th game for the franchise, his teammates and people from the support staff took their moments to congratulate him and wish him the best of luck. In a video shared by the team on Twitter, AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Siraj, coach Mike Hesson, and others spoke about Kohli’s contribution till now and wished him the best for his future.

“Congratulations on your 200th game for RCB, it’s a wonderful achievement. We are very privileged to be with you. When we go out with you for your 200th game, we will celebrate you as you are an absolute legend for this team. We don’t always tell you that but we appreciate everything you do for this team,” said de Villiers. Meanwhile, coach Mike Hesson praised Kohli for his loyalty and commitment to the team. “Congratulations Virat Bhai, obviously an outstanding achievement. 200 games for the same franchise shows loyalty, shows commitment...The one thing I really love and stands out for me is that you always play for the team, you are incredibly selfless,” said Hesson.

Kohli is the highest run-getter in IPL

Virat Kohli has amassed a mammoth 6076 runs from the 199 games he has played in the IPL so far. He averages almost 38 and has scored 45 fifty-plus scores. In 2016, he scored four of the five centuries and finished the season with 973 runs against his name. Notably, Kohli will be eyeing another milestone i.e. 10,000 runs in T20 cricket when he will play on Monday against KKR. He needs 71 runs to become the first Indian and fifth overall batsman to score ten thousand runs in the shortest format.
