The ongoing fourth T20I between India and South Africa has been an exciting affair between ball and bat. After being invited to bat first, India had a troublesome start as the hosts were reduced to 13-1 in 1.6 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad was the first one to dismiss as he was caught by wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock after adding just 5 runs in seven deliveries.

While South African bowlers continued their impressive show by picking wickets at regular intervals, vice-captain Hardik Pandya (46 off 31) and veteran finisher Dinesh Karthik (55 off 27) stole the show with their impressive innings. As both batters helped India post 169/6, South African openers had a steady start to their batting. While Quinton de Kock and skipper Temba Bavuma took some time to understand the situation, the South African skipper nearly escaped a brutal injury in 3rd over of the second innings.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a back-of-length delivery which caught Temba Bavuma by surprise as it bounced extra than anticipated. The ball hit the South African captain's shoulder and deflected onto the helmet's grill. Sensing the intensity of the hit, Bhuvneshwar immediately reached out to Temba Bavuma and checked on him.

While the South African physio was out in the middle to inspect the skipper, he responded positively but after a few deliveries, the physio was in the middle once again as Temba Bavuma complained of immense pain in his shoulder after diving at the non-striker's end. Despite magic spray, Bevuma was unable to hold the bat and hence, walked off the field and Dwaine Pretorius replaced him in the middle. South Africa is off to a steady start in front of India's disciplined bowling.
