Indian cricket has a rich history with some immortal moments etched in the minds of the fans. The 1983 World Cup victory, 2007 T20 World Cup win, MS Dhoni’s six off Nuwan Kulasekara to bring home the 2011 World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy win. However, there have been some heartbreaks as well. India bowing out of the 2019 World Cup semifinal, losing to Pakistan in the 2017 Champions Trophy Final, and many more.

It’s worth noting that most of the memorable moments have come from ICC events. But there is one bilateral series as well that will live in the memory of every Indian cricket team fan till they live. India’s win in the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar Trophy is one of those cricketing moments that showed ‘nothing is impossible’. Coming out of a humiliating loss and battling injuries, India scripted history as they beat Australia 2-1 in a four-match series to retain the BG Trophy.

Such was the performance from India that fans across the world hailed the team for their grit and determination. The heroes of Gabba also got a huge amount of love back in the country. And to relive that historic triumph, filmmaker Neeraj Pandey decided to bring it on the big screen. A web series on India’s win is all set to rock people’s screens across the country. ‘Bandon Mein Tha Dum’ has been kept as the title of the series.

The trailer for the same was launched on Wednesday (01 June) in the presence of heroes of the series win including Ajinkya Rahane, Mohammed Siraj, Hanuma Vihari, R Ashwin, and Cheteshwar Pujara.

It can be seen through the trailer that the web series looks back at India’s rise from ‘underdogs’ to the winners. It also gives an inside look into the minds of players who played a big role in the historic win. Ajinkya Rahane is heard talking about the moment he got involved in a runout of Virat Kohli. Meanwhile, Siraj talks about how injuries ruled out big stars one after the other. Notably, the series will be released on the OTT platform Voot Select on June 16.
