Aspen Ladd once again hogged the limelight for her weight before her bantamweight bout with Macy Chiasson at UFC Vegas 38. During the weigh-in she was found to have crossed the maximum weight limit. The consequences even saw her stripping off herself inside the privacy shield to make up for the extra weight. However, that attempt too went in vain as her weight was still crossing the bantamweight limit.

The overall drama saw Ladd even raising her hands and starting to shake when the scales were being adjusted. She almost collapsed on the surface but somehow she managed to find her feet. The video of the incident is now going viral on social media.

Here is the video:

Talking in detail, the 26-year-old MMA fighter initially weighed 141.5 pounds (64.2 kilograms), which is well beyond the maximum limit in the bantamweight category - 61.2 kgs. Her team then asked a privacy shield and then she stripped off. Despite all that, her weight was (62.14 kg). As a result, Ladd's fight against Chiasson got cancelled.

Ladd later took to social media to share a heartfelt note. "Fight is off. Again. All my fault. Straight up started my period 2 days back and made this cut absolutely miserable. Did the best I could, hit 137, the scale situation was a mess because the last thing I wanted was to bleed in front of the media," she wrote on Instagram, adding, "The fight wasn’t pulled, my opponent then decided she would rather not go through with it, as is her right. I’m going to get slammed regardless, so let it begin."

It is worth noting that this is not the first instance for Ladd when the weight got the better of her. She had missed weight by 1.8 pounds ahead of her fight against Leslie Smith. The fight was cancelled after Smith decided against the catchweight bout. A year later, Ladd was also spotted shaking before her bout against Germaine de Randamie. Notably, it is quite common among fighters to dehydrate themselves as much as possible ahead of the weigh-ins in order to enter the category and then gain as much weight as possible before the game.
