Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Umran Malik has been a revelation this season. He has been hitting the right lengths along with some serious pace. His best performance came against Gujarat Titans (GT) where he took five wickets and was also named Player of the Match despite his team losing the game.
However, Umran was taken to the cleaners by CSK batters on Sunday. The right-arm quick conceded 48 runs in his four overs and also remained wicketless. Ruturaj Gaikwad was using the pacer's speed for his good and was hitting Malik all around the park.
Although the bowler was being hit for boundaries, he did not lose his pace and continued to hit the bat hard. In the process, he also bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2022. The SRH speedster touched the 154 Kph mark in his team's game against CSK. And he did it twice.
The first 154 Kph delivery came in the 10th over of CSK innings. Malik bowled a full ball to Ruturaj Gaikwad and the speed gun showed it being bowled at 154. The second time Malik touched the mark was in his last over when he was up against MS Dhoni. The SRH pacer bowled a searing yorker to MS Dhoni which the batter could only drill to mid-off.

Malik ends up with expensive spell!
After being hit for 40 runs in the first three overs, Malik redeemed himself a bit in the last over as he only conceded eight runs in his last over of the spell. The right-arm quick bowled tight lines against the likes of MS Dhoni and Devon Conway to not concede too many runs. However, he had already conceded a plenty of them in his first and thus ended the game with the bowling figures of 4-0-48-0.
