Umran Malik burst out of the scene when he bowled a 150+ kmph delivery in IPL 2021. The young pacer from Jammu and Kashmir was right on the money from the very first ball he bowled in the IPL. Based on his performance he was retained by his franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. And in the last two games, Malik has shown why experts are counting on him to be the next big thing in Indian cricket.

In Match 28 of IPL 2022, being played between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Umran Malik bowled a four-wicket maiden over and that too in the 20th over. Given the responsibility to wrap things up, Malik obliged and took three wickets in the last over and did not concede a single run.

On the second delivery of the 20th over, Malik got Odean Smith with a brute off a length delivery. He then rattled the stumps of Rahul Chahar and Vaibhav Arora to make it three wickets in the over. Although he was denied a hat-trick by Arshdeep Singh, Malik did not allow the PBKS batters to settle.

Sunrisers tighten the grip!

After receiving some hammering from Liam Livingston, Sunrisers bowlers made a comeback at the fag end of the innings. Umran Malik was the most impressive one with his triple-wicket maiden in the last over. But before that, SRH's experienced campaigner Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the most important wicket in the game as he got Liam Livingston caught out at covers. Bhuvi outfoxed Livingston with a slower delivery. He also finished the game with the bowling figures of 4-0-22-3. T Natarajan also chipped in with a crucial wicket of Prabhsimran.
