‘Age is just a number’ has been one of the cliches, that we have been hearing for a long time but often don’t give it a lot of importance. But when someone actually lives up to this, our minds are blown away. This sentiment is much truer in a sports setting as we consider playing various sports at the high level as one peaks of human excellence.

Similarly, a video from 2017 has been making rounds on various social media platforms that stars former table tennis player from India who was seen dominating a far younger TT player at the age of 69. The video is about Saraswathi Rao who is a former state champion from Karnataka.

Check out the video here:

Reports say that during her playing days, she was ranked No 2 in India and had defeated World No. 4 from Japan in her prime. In the video, we can see, that Saraswathi Rao despite her old age stays in complete control with precise technique as she puts on an amazing display of incredible forehand shots and fierce smashes which help her win points.

Saraswathi Rao’s story just tells us about the eternal love of sports that at any point in our lives can push us to pick up a racquet and ball or any other sporting equipment and play. She is an inspiration to all and proves to us that we must do what we love and live every moment to its merit.
