Ultimate Fighting Championship's (UFC) bantamweight division star Sean O'Malley recently was seemingly on the receiving end of an attack as he was carrying a rainbow flag. In a video that is now doing the rounds on the internet, the American MMA fighter is claimed to have been attacked presumably due to the same reason.

Notably, the rainbow flag is a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and queer pride and has been at the centre of several social movements surrounding the community. While the world of professional sport aims to become more and more inclusive, incidents like these are against the very essence of what sports stand for.

Have a look at the video here:

The authenticity of this being the fighter himself is yet to be ascertained. Recently, the 27-year-old shared his thoughts on a potential fight between Henry Cejudo and Alex Volkanovksi fight.

"That’s a super interesting fight. Both dudes, shorter guys, stalky. It’s a super, super interesting fight. You can’t count Henry out, he’s done the things he’s done, he’s a super good competitor. You just can’t really count him out but I don’t know if I see him going in there and taking out Volkanovski," O’Malley said while speaking to Helen Yee Sports.

"Volkanovski has got to be up there, pound for pound top 3 right now, top 2 maybe even. He’s super active and has beaten the top, top guys, Max, Zombie, Ortega. Henry has got a completely different style than all of those guys, similar style to Volkanovski," he added.

However, nothing concrete has happened with regard to this match-up.
