Jasprit Bumrah looked in a totally different mood in India’s 5th Test against England. Having been named the captain of the side in Rohit Sharma’s absence, Bumrah upped his game, especially with the bat as he amassed 29 runs in one over of England pacer Stuart Broad.

Bumrah scored as many as four boundaries and two sixes in the over to make it the most expensive over in Test cricket history. The Indian pacer played some outrageous shot in that over. Luck also seemed to be on his side as Bumrah was dropped on the very first ball of the over by Zak Crawley. He then got a six off an outside edge and a boundary off an outside edge.

However, the other three shots hit by Bumrah were pretty much nicely timed. The boundary of the full toss and then the boundary in the deep square leg region were two well-controlled shots. Another shot that saw the ball being deposited in the stands over the fine-leg boundary was a thumping one from Bumrah.

While Bumrah was putting on a show on the field, his teammates in the dressing room were enjoying every bit of it. Every shot from the Indian captain was being cheered by the players sitting in the dugout. The best reaction came from Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer when Bumrah hit that six over fine-leg. The two players looked ecstatic and were seen clapping animatedly in the dugout.

Notably, as Bumrah scored 29 runs off his bat in the most expensive over in Test cricket history that went for 35, he broke Brian Lara's record. Lara had scored 28 runs off South Africa’s Robin Peterson back in 2003. The number third position on this list is taken by Australia's George Bailey who had accumulated 28 runs off James Anderson in 2013.
