The ICC World Test Championship begins in less than a week’s time from now. Both the finalists are looking forward to the summit clash. While New Zealand are getting proper match practice by way of a Test series against England, India have already reached Southampton, the venue for the titular clash, and are preparing by playing intra-squad practice matches. Consequently, the team has been divided into two teams and while Kohli is leading a bunch of boys, it is KL Rahul who is captaining the other team.

Interestingly, Virat was even seen rolling his arms over to Rahul. While many believe that India will go ahead with both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the all-important match irrespective of the conditions, having an option like Kohli available to bowl a few overs can hint in that direction. However, all if it seems more of a tactic to warm up and have some fun on the cricket field before the actual action begins.

Earlier, ICC had shared a video of captain Kohli fine-tuning his drives ahead of the crucial game. While the right-handed batter has built his reputation as one of the greats of the game, he is yet to win an ICC trophy as a captain despite his great success as a leader. Moreover, Virat hasn’t scored an international hundred since November 2019 and would be eager to make a mark with the bat contributing to what would be an iconic win in the history of Indian cricket.
