As India’s captain Virat Kohli returned to the playing XI for series decider in Cape Town, he certainly ensured that the whole South Africa would feel his presence. After scoring a brilliant half-century in first innings, the 33-year-old played another gritty knock in second innings and notched up a crucial partnership with Rishabh Pant.
However, it was during India’s fielding when fans got to see the aggressive side of King Kohli. He was constantly involved in a banter with Dean Elgar throughout the second innings of South Africa but the incident of 21st over sparked a few angry reactions from Virat.
After the South African captain survived a controversial LBW decision (because of DRS), India’s captain did not shy away from expressing his dissatisfaction. While umpire Marais Erasmus was also surprised with the decision, Kohli was absolutely livid.
While he was undoubtedly frustrated with the whole incident, Kohli also ensured that he would take a dig at broadcasters. Reflecting on the fact that many of his comments have been caught on stump mic during the series, Kohli went towards the stumps and made a clear statement to the host broadcasters. He said, “Focus on your team as well and not just the opposition, trying to catch people all the time,” presumably suggesting that India were being unfairly targeted.

While the Test and series is hanging by a thread, Kohli is also likely to be reprimanded by the match referee after the end of match due to his angry outburst on Thursday.
