Royal Challengers Bangalore started really well against Chennai Super Kings after they were put in to bat by MS Dhoni. The opening pair of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Paddikal were too good for the CSK bowlers in the powerplay as they hit 55 from six overs without losing any wicket. Virat Kohli started his innings with two consecutive boundaries off Deepak Chahar and looked in good touch. One of his shots was so good that it left everyone in awe of the beauty of the stroke.

Virat Kohli hit a ‘no-look’ shot off Shardul Thakur on the fourth delivery of the fifth over that sailed over the boundary for a monstrous six. The highlight of the shot was its timing and the reaction of Virat Kohli. The RCB captain hit the ball with such perfection that he didn’t even bother to look where it was heading and rather held his head still for a while. The commentators were also mightily impressed with Virat Kohli’s style of batting and Deep Dasgupta was the one to point out that it was a no-look shot.

Kohli-Padikkal partnership steals the show

RCB were handed a humiliating defeat by KKR in their first game of the second leg of IPL 2021 and their batting was what raised eyebrows. The pillars of the RCB batting lineup, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell failed miserably and couldn’t help the team post a decent total. However, the team seems to have woken up after the loss as their openers stitched a 111-run partnership to put RCB in a strong position in the game. Kohli departed after a 53 off 41 that included 6 fours and a six.

Both Paddikal and Kohli looked in a sublime touch as they kept dispatching CSK bowlers for boundaries. Notably, RCB came into the game with Wanindu Hasaranga and Yuzvendra Chahal as the frontline spinners while Navdeep Saini, Harshal Patel, and Mohammed Siraj got picked as pacers in the match against CSK on Friday.
