On Saturday, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered their third win in the IPL 2022, defeating five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) comprehensively by 7 wickets. After winning the toss, RCB asked Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians to bat. MI lost wickets at regular intervals and managed to score mere 151 runs in their quota of 20 overs. While chasing, Faf du Plessis and his men easily chased the target. However, there was one incident that caught everyone’s eyes.
Virat Kohli, who was batting extremely well against spinners and fast bowlers got out to a flighted delivery. The 18-year-old Dewald Brevis tossed up the delivery which went onto hit Virat Kohli’s bat and pad simultaneously. Post bowler’s appeal, the on-field umpire gave Virat Kohli out. The batter was unsatisfied with umpire’s decision and asked for DRS. At that moment, Virat Kohli thought third umpire will reverse the decision. However, with no clear evidence of ball hitting bat first, third umpire, Ulhas Gande decided to stay with original decision.
When big screen adjudged Virat Kohli out, the batter couldn’t resist and ended up showing his emotions out loud. Virat Kohli was fumed with anger as he never thought that the decision will go against him.
While walking back to the pavilion, Virat Kohli’s emotions were caught in camera by a fan which went viral on social media. Virat Kohli was seen shouting at top of his voice while hitting ground with his bat. At the end, Virat scored 48 runs off 36 balls involving 5 boundaries.
