The ongoing fifth and final Test between England and India saw visitors crumbling down in front of the disciplined bowling by the hosts. After Ben Stokes invited India to bat first at Edgbaston in Birmingham, Indian batters seemed to be struggling in foreign conditions as their top-four batters were sent back to the pavilion with just 71-runs on board.

After Indian openers, Shubhman Gill (17 off 24) and Cheteshwar Pujara (13 off 46) became a victim of James Anderson, middle-order batter Hanuma Vihari too failed to make a mark as he was trapped leg before wicket by Matty Potts at just 20-runs.

With the top three back in the pavilion, the onus was on former skipper Virat Kohli and wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant who were out in the middle trying to steady India's innings. But, much to everyone's surprise, Virat Kohli added one more poor innings under his belt as he perished after contributing with just 11-runs on board. The former Indian skipper played 19 deliveries and hit two boundaries before he was surprisingly bowled off Matty Potts in the 25th over.

The right-handed batter attempted to defend and leave the ball simultaneously, but Kohli's half-hearted attempt cost him his wicket as the ball got an inside edge and went on to hit the stumps and dislodged the bails.  With that wicket, the wait for Virat Kohli's 71st international century continues.

Speaking of the match, Indian batters continued their poor display of batting as Shreyas Iyer who came after Virat Kohli, could only add 11-runs on board before taking a walk back to join back the half-of-the team in the pavilion. James Anderson picked his third wicket in the form of Shreyas Iyer.

Matty Potts is another bowler who has posed a tough challenge to India batters as he has picked two wickets till now. By the time of writing, India is struggling at 106-5 with vice-captain Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on the crease.
