The duo of MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina is undoubtedly one of the best that the sport of cricket has ever seen. The left-right combination won so many matches for their country and franchise over the years and were always been a sight to watch for everyone whenever they played together. There were reports about rift between the two of them ahead of IPL 2020 and fans wondered if the duo will ever be seen playing together again. However, all the rumours were put to rest in style when Dhoni and Raina reunited for CSK in IPL 2021 and it was for everyone to see that no love was lost between the two of them. As cricket fans often celebrate the comradery between MSD and Raina, an old video of the duo is now doing the rounds on social media which has certainly brought back the nostalgia all over again.

Viral video of Dhoni and Raina from IPL 2019

There is a reason that MSD is called Thala (leader) and Raina is called Chinna Thala (right hand of the leader). While the two of them gelled very well on the field, their bromance off the field is also known to the fans. A hilarious video from IPL 2019 has now gone viral, which reflects a small part of all the fun memories that the duo has made playing together for more than 15 years.

The footage is from Kedar Jadhav's birthday celebration where Suresh Raina had a really enjoyable day, having put all the cake on the birthday boy. After all the fun, when Raina went to Jadhav with a towel to help him clean himself, CSK captain MS Dhoni made a hilarious statement as he said, "Sabse harami launda yahi hota hai jo poora lagane ke baad towel laake deta hai."

The duo that plays together, retires together

It was only a few days after this fun day that MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina decided to call time on their illustrious international careers on the same day - August 15, 2019. While it could be regarded as a coincidence, it was actually not. It was instead just a testimony to the fact that some bonds in sports are actually special and the fans must celebrate it when they can. A golden era of Indian cricket ended on country 73rd Independence Day. While the IPL 2021 got suspended midway, the fans would just hope to see both of them play together for one last time before they retire from franchise cricket as well.
