India and Gujarat Titans wicket-keeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha recently opened up about his relationship with former India and Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In a video posted on the Gujarat Titans’ Twitter handle, Saha spoke about meeting Dhoni for the first time.

The West Bengal keeper talked about how MS Dhoni had just made his One Day International debut and was invited to play in a club tournament in Kolkata for his team. Saha and Dhoni opened the innings where the younger batter had a head start. Saha revealed that he had scored 36 quick runs while Dhoni was at nine. Soon the 2011 World Cup winner got the strike and went to score a massive century, while Saha was still 41.

Then Wriddhiman also talked about how he has always tried to learn from MS Dhoni while playing for India or during his time at Chennai in the initial few seasons of IPL. He said, “I have learned a lot from him as a wicket-keeper and batter over the years.” Saha also mentioned how both of them share the ‘same temperament’ when it comes to cricket.

Before facing the Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Mitchell Santner expressed how the teams are in good spirits after their latest victory against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. While speaking to CSK TV, he said, “It will be nice to take some momentum from the last game. The batters fired and the bowlers did a good job as well so, but you know we should adapt again to a new wicket and see what it is going to do. The team is in good spirits and we are going good.”

“We are working on a few things and I think we are still getting better every game. We had a close one against Lucknow. Winning those small moments is going to be big for us, and if we can get on a roll and bag a couple of wins in a row, should be good. We know it is a very long tournament, still, a lot of games left, so when we play our best, we can beat any team”, he said.
