Prior to their much sought after Universal Championship match at the SummerSlam scheduled in August, John Cena has registered a massive win over SmackDown hero Roman Reigns in the six-man tag action. From what is being known, this was a house show match in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, where Cena hit Reigns with his famous attititude adjustment move to finish off the match. Several videos have emerged online of this contest. The match was in fact an untelevised event.

While Cena did not pin Reigns, the Hollywood star hit Jey Uso with his characteristic finishing move. He then pinned the SmackDown Tag Team champ to emerge as the winner. Similar to how it happened post the SmackDown last week, John Cena teamed up with Diminik and Rey Mysterio to take on Roman Reigns along with the Usos in the action of this six-man tag team category.

This show on Saturday also happens to be the first time that WWE has hosted a non-televised event since the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic which brought the entire world to a standstill especially after March 2020. Meanwhile, WWE is expected to continue its non-televised live event touring schedule with a range of shows over the last few weeks, many of which will feature Cena and it is also being build up as the "Summer of Cena."

"Dont waste time criticizing the choices of others, instead learn from their choices and apply that knowledge to your journey," Cena's last tweet dated July 25 reads.

Although there has been no official confirmation, the match is likely to happen at SummerSlam next month and what is most obvious choice for the main event is this huge clash between John Cena and Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Moreover, in a rather surprising style, Finn Balor inserted himself into the Universal Championship mix on Friday's episode of SmackDown, with even Reigns accepting the former NXT Champion's challenge for a match with the title at stake. For now, there is no clarity on how Balor will factor in the proposed Reigns vs Cena match at SummerSlam with the match almost confirmed to happen as per various credible sources.
