The first match of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just a few hours away. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will battle it out on Saturday evening to kick off the tournament. Both teams will be playing under a new captain. As KKR start their campaign, a special wish for them has come from a special personality.
The wish has come for Venkatesh Iyer rather. Iyer, who will be opening the innings for KKR in IPL 2022, has received some good luck messages from WWE star Seth Rollins ahead of Iyer's first game. As the Madhya Pradesh all-rounder is a big fan of Rollins, the wrestler has extended his wishes for his top fan and has backed his team to lift the trophy.
In a video posted by WWE India on Twitter, Rollins wished Venkatesh the best for this season. "Venkatesh...my man. It is I, the visionary, the revolutionary, Seth 'Freakin' Rollins. And I am so, no surprises here, that you are a huge fan of mine. My friend, that feels so good. But you got Indian Premier League ahead of you. So you need my blessing to go and grab that cup. So prepare yourself to be blessed by the visionary and go on and burn it down," he said.

Notably, Venkatesh Iyer burst into IPL scenes last year when the second leg of the tournament began in the UAE. Right from the first game, Iyer showed his batting skills and cemented his place in the XI. His performance for KKR in the seven games earned him a retention ahead of the mega auction. And now he will be once again opening the innings for the Knights.
