Swashbuckling West Indies batsman Chris Gayle is celebrating his 42nd birthday today. The ‘Universe Boss’ will be seen in action on the cricket field on the occasion of his 42nd birthday as Punjab Kings lock horns with Rajasthan Royals in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 match in Dubai on Tuesday. Today's match will be Gayle's 447th T20 match and the southpaw has been one of the most destructive batsmen in the shortest format of the game over the years.

Gayle has scored 14,261 runs in the format, which is the most ever by any cricketer. The Jamaican has scored those runs at an average of 36.94 with a strike rate of 145.87. In the process, he has smashed 22 centuries and 87 half-centuries. Meanwhile, in IPL, Gayle has registered 4,950 runs from 140 matches with six hundreds and 31 fifties at an incredible strike-rate of 149.45.

Gayle received birthday wishes from the cricketing fraternity. Former Team India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also took to social media to wish Gayle on his special day. Yuvi posted a video of Gayle dancing to a Michael Jackson song. The Universe Boss, along with Yuvraj was seen moonwalking in the video.

“Happy birthday to the #UniverseBoss @ChrisGayle333. Looking forward to many more epic nights with MJ moves are you sure. @virat.kohli is a better dancer than me? #HappyBirthdayKingGayle,” Yuvraj captioned his Instagram post. The Caribbean batting great also replied to Yuvi's post with a smiley and heart emoji, "😃🙏🏿❤️."
