Yuzvendra Chahal is undoubtedly one of the best leg spinners when it comes to T20 cricket. The right-arm leggie has claimed the most wickets for India in international cricket. He also has a knack for taking big wickets. Chahal has always been among wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well. Although he has played the majority of his IPL matches for RCB, he is playing for RR in IPL 2022.

But a change in team has not brought any change in his wizardry with the ball. In the two games played so far for Rajasthan, Chahal has taken five wickets. While he derailed SRH's chase the other day, he continued his fine run with the ball against Mumbai Indians. The right-arm leg-break bowlers took two wickets which could have been three had Karun Nair not dropped the catch of Murugan Ashwin.

In his last over of the spell, Chahal first trapped Tim David before the wicket. He then deceived Daniel Sams off a beautiful delivery and was complimented well by Jos Buttler who took probably one of the best catches of the tournament. For his hat-trick wicket, Chahal had M Ashwin in front of him. The leggie did not try anything out-of-the-box and bowled a conventional delivery.

He also managed to induce an outside edge and the ball flew to the fielder at slip. But Karun Nair failed to hold on to the catch denying Chahal a hat-trick.

Chahal denied his first IPL hat-trick

Had Karun Nair taken the catch, Yuzvendra Chahal would have taken the first hat-trick of his IPL career. As many as 20 hat tricks have been taken in the history of the Indian Premier League with Harshal Patel being the latest to achieve the feat. Chahal has taken as many as 144 wickets in 116 IPL games but has never taken a hat-trick. He would hope for it to come soon.
