One of the finest batters India has ever produced, Sunil Gavaskar, has been a respected figure in the commentary box as well. In his recent stint in the Match 20 of IPL 2022 between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants, Gavaskar had a memorable chat with his fellow British commentator Alan Wilkins.

It all happened in the 7th over the RR innings, where both commentators were discussing the reason behind the Marine Drive as Queen’s necklace. During the chat, Gavaskar took a dig at Wilkins to aware him that India is still awaiting the return of the Kohinoor diamond, which was supposedly stolen by the Britishers in the 19th century.

"We are still awaiting the Kohinoor Diamond", said Gavaskar. On this, Wilkins laughed and responded, "I wonder when that is coming." In addition, Gavaskar asked Wilkins, if he had any influence in the present British government in order to convince them to return back the Kohinoor diamond.

Here is the viral video of the same:

However, a tweet went viral with the person posting the video tweet misinterpreting Alan Wilkins to the England spinner, Graeme Swann, who is also one of the commentators in the Star Sports panel for IPL 2022.

After seeing this tweet, Swann posted a photo with Rohan Gavaskar, son of Sunil Gavaskar, and replied with, “Er…I’m with the other Gavaskar mate.” Along with Swann, Rohan is also one of the commentators in the ongoing season of the IPL and are staying at the same hotel.

After this tweet, some users slammed Sunil Gavaskar and urged him to stick to his commentary stint, while some thanked him for again bringing this topic into the public domain.
