Gujarat Titans (GT) once again reigned supreme against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as they beat the KL Rahul-led team for the second time in IPL 2022. After posting a below-par total of 144, Gujarat bowlers put on a show and bundled out Lucknow for a mere 82 and eventually won the game by 62 runs.
Rashid Khan stole the show for Titans as the right-arm leggie bagged four wickets in the game to completely derail LSG’s chase. He removed Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, and Avesh Khan to bring the first four-wicket haul for himself this season. Rashid was ably supported by his fellow bowlers Yash Dayal, R Sai Kishore, and Mohammed Shami.
While Dayal and Sai Kishore took a brace each, Shami took the important wicket of opposition captain KL Rahul. Shami also bowled an economical spell of three overs, where he conceded only five runs. With this thumping victory over Lucknow, Gujarat Titans became the first team to qualify for the playoff.
