Former Indian captain MS Dhoni was one such cricketer whose magic on the field literally united the fans of all nations. The young swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter, in his stylish long hair, won the hearts of all Pakistani fans by his flamboyance way back in mid 2000s.

Although everyone got a glimpse that the youngster was bound for some great things in his career, not many would have imagined that he would go on to change the history of cricket. After guiding his side to an exceptional win over Pakistan in 2007 T20 World Cup final, there was no stopping Dhoni as he led India to a memorable 2011 WC victory at home before winning the 2013 Champions Trophy as well.

Pakistani fans have showered love on Dhoni over the years

From his flamboyant style to his helicopter shots to his captaincy masterstrokes, MSD became a fan favourite for all cricket fans throughout his career. And despite India and Pakistan having such a huge rivalry with each other in the sport, the former Indian captain was showered with love from fans of both nations.

Over the years, there have been many instances when Pakistani fans have expressed their love and affection for MS Dhoni. Despite being the supporters of Men in Green, they have been spotted on the ground with the name of former Indian captain on their Pakistan jerseys. There is hardly any Indian cricketer who has so many fans of him in the neighboring country, which just speaks volumes about MSD's legacy.

With captain cool returning to Team India set-up as mentor for 2021 T20 World Cup, there is already so much excitement among the fans. One of his greatest fans from Pakistan - Bashir Chacha had a special tribute for Thala as he was pictured, presumably in Dubai, in a mixed Indo-Pak jersey with a message, "Welcome Back Dhoni."
