After a dominating performance in the white-ball leg of the short England tour, India will now take on West Indies for the ODI series followed by T20Is. While Rohit Sharma & Co. played with a refreshing approach in the recently concluded series, this will be a new-look Indian team for the ODIs with several of the senior players being rested and Shikhar Dhawan leading the squad.

Meanwhile, West Indies would look to come up with a better performance than their last ODI series in which they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Bangladesh at home.

Prior to the first face-off between West India and India on this tour, here is an attempt to predict who will have the advantage during the crucial phases of the match and who will be the eventual winner at the Queen's Park Oval.

1. Toss Prediction

India won each of the three tosses in the ODI series against England. Meanwhile, West Indies lost all the tosses in the ODI series against Bangladesh. So based on this recent stat, predicting India to win the toss although it would be a different captain turning up for the Men in Blue.

2. Win Possibility

Based on recent form as well as reputation, clearly India have a better chance of winning this match. They have a strong team and even without several of their experienced players, they have the resources to produce a dominating performance. So predicting India to win the match.

3. Team of the Day

Based on the overall head-to-head record too, India are the favourites as they have won 67 of the total 136 ODIs played between the two countries with 2 ending in a tie and 4 ending without any result. The Team of the Day pick for this match Is India.

4. Powerplay Score (First 10 overs)

The average powerplay score, after taking the scoring rate of West Indies in their first ODI against Bangladesh and taking a 10 over equivalent score for that match for calculation purposes as the powerplay was reduced to 8 overs due to rain in that match, comes to 26.16 for the home team. On the other hand, India's average score in the England ODIs was 42.33. So while the Windies could score less than 40 in the first 10 overs, India is likely to end up with a bigger score.

5. Average Score

The average first innings score at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain in the last 3 ODIs is 276.33. Interestingly, it was India and West Indies only who played these last three ODIs at this venue. India ended up winning all three matches.
