1st t20I WI vs IND - Prediction of the Game

0:

After getting thrashed 3-0 in the three-match ODI series, West Indies are all set to play India for five T20Is starting on 29 July. The Nicholas Pooran-led side looked clueless against India in the three ODIs, especially the last one. While they put up a fight in the first two games, West Indies were completely blown away in the rain-affected third ODI.

Nevertheless, the hosts will now look to bounce back from the losses in the ODIs and put up a good show in the five T20Is. However, it will not be easy for the Windies, considering their recent form. Meanwhile, India will be further strengthened with the return of their mainstays, Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant.

As India and West Indies gear up for the first T20I to be played on 29 July, here is a stats-based prediction for the events in the game.

1. Toss Prediction

Starting with the toss, Nicholas Pooran had an edge over Shikhar Dhawan in the three ODIs as the West Indies captain won two out of three tosses. However, Pooran will have Rohit Sharma this time who has won four out of the last six tosses in international cricket. Therefore, India are expected to win the toss in the 1st T20I.

2. Win Possibility

Considering India’s performance in the last three T20Is, where they defeated England in two of them, and how they have fared on their tour to the West Indies so far, the Rohit Sharma-led team will be the favorites to win the first T20I against the Windies.

3. Team of the Day

With the kind of players India have in their hut, the Men in Blue are miles ahead of the West Indies in terms of the Team of the Day.

4. Powerplay Score

India have registered an average score of 53.67 in the first six overs of their last three T20Is while West Indies have an average powerplay score of 44.5 in their last two T20Is. So, the powerplay score for India is expected to be above 50 runs while for the Windies, it is expected to remain below 50 runs.

5. Average score

The average first innings total at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy is 130.
