West Indies have a lot of positives to take out from the first Test that ended in a draw. Joshua Da Silva, John Campbell and Kyle Mayers scored 40s in the first innings. Jason Holder and Kemar Roach’s bowling had inscrutable swing and the duo took 11 wickets in total in the match. Nkrumah Bonner scored an unbeaten 113 in the second innings. An overall comprehensive performance by West Indies in the first game but they need to back their instincts and go all-out aggressive if they have to win the series.
Meanwhile, it was a much-better comeback from Sri Lanka after their first innings upset. Suranga Lakmal was breathing fire as he notched up 5 wickets in the first innings and ripped through the Windies batting line-up. Pathum Nissanka and Oshada Fernando struck imposing knocks to pile up a mammoth 476 in the second innings and subsequently save the Test match for Sri Lanka.
