23rd June marks a special day for Team India. On this day in 2013, Team India registered a thrilling win against England and won the prestigious Champions Trophy. The date is a little extra special for Indian captain Rohit Sharma who made his international debut on June 23, 2007. Rohit made his ODI debut against Ireland at Belfast in 2007 and hasn’t looked back since then.

On completing 15 years of international cricket, the Indian opener shared a special message for his fans on social media.

"Today I'll be completing 15 years of international cricket since I made my debut for India. What a journey it has been, surely one that I'll cherish for the rest of my life.

"I just want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey and a special thanks for the people who helped me become the player that I am today.

"To all the cricket lovers, fans and critics your love and support for the team is what gets us over those hurdles we all inevitably come across," Rohit Sharma said in a post.

Notably, Rohit Sharma was handed India's captaincy in all formats after Virat Kohli stepped down as T20I captain and was sacked as ODI skipper last year. Rohit was then appointed as Test skipper Kohli announced a shocking exit from the role earlier this year following India's defeat against South Africa.

Team India is currently in England for an all-format series. The tour will kick off with a one-off Test from July 1 to July 5, followed by T20Is and ODIs.
