India will lock horns with England in the fifth and final Test, scheduled to be held in Manchester, starting Friday. Virat Kohli and his men will head into this Test high on confidence after their morale-boosting 157-run victory in the 4th Test of the series. The series now stands at 2-1 after 4 hard-fought Tests. Meanwhile, England under Joe Root will be eager to win the 5th Test and level the series.

The UK MET department has predicted intermittent rain throughout the fifth Test. There are predictions for large spells of rainfall on Day 1 of the Old Trafford Test. Moreover, intermittent showers are expected on Day 3 as well. The average temperature should be around 18 degrees Celsius.

Day 1 forecast for Old Trafford Test

The first days of the match is predicted to be most affected by the weather. There are high chances of rain on the first day of the 5th Test, with weather forecast predicting 80-90% chances of rainfall.

Day 2 forecast for Old Trafford Test

The first session of Day 2 is likely to be washed out, according to the forecast. The average temperature is set to be around 19 degrees Celsius during the time of play.

Day 3 forecast for Old Trafford Test

There is a 40 to 50% chance of rain on Day 3 while the average temperature will be around 17 degrees Celsius on Day 3.

Day 4 forecast for Old Trafford Test

There will be clouds around for the majority of the day but the weather is expected to become clear later on in the day.

Day 5 forecast for Old Trafford Test

Clear sky is expected on Day 5 of the Test match, with a 10 per cent chance of rain. 

The overall forecast for the final Test is gloomy. The first 3 days of the Test match would remain cloudy. As a result, rain could play spoilsport at Manchester. With high chances of intermittent rain throughout, there is a possibility of a draw between India and England in the fifth Test. Notably, the first Test between the two sides also ended in a draw with rain causing the entire fifth day to be washed out.
