David Warner, who led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their maiden IPL title in 2016, was undoubtedly a great servant for the Orange Army in last few years. The Hyderabad fans loved him a lot and no one could ever imagine Warner playing for a different franchise in future. However, things took a dramatic turn in previous edition of IPL as the relationship between two parties deteriorated under controversial circumstances.

After being removed from captaincy with Kane Williamson taking over, Warner was later dropped from playing XI before being axed from the match-day squad itself in few games. The fans were left in shock to see the Aussie being forced to watch the match from his hotel room or from the stands in the stadium. It was quite evident that things were not fine between the player and management and as expected, the 35-year-old was released by SRH after the end of season.

The left-handed batsman found his form back in T20 World Cup 2021 as he had an exceptional campaign with Australia, winning 'player of the tournament' award. But despite the return of happy days, it seems like he hasn't really forgotten how SRH treated him during IPL 2021.

Warner opens up on his relationship with SRH

In a recent interview with senior journalist Boria Majumdar, the Aussie slammed the management of the franchise for sacking him as the captain and dropping him from the team without giving any reasons. He said, "If you are going to drop a captain and then not pick him in the team after what he has done, what message does that send to the young kids in the team? What message does that send to the rest of the group? What hurt me the most is that the other guys are now thinking, ‘oh, this could happen to me."

"At the end of the day, whatever happens, cop it cop it on the chin. If you want to have those conversations, just have them. It’s not hard. Don’t shy away from them. I am not going to bite. I am going to sit here and accept that for what it is because you are not picking me in the team," Warner added on chat show Backstage with Boria.

As Warner has now parted ways with SRH, he can be signed by either of the two new franchises during the ongoing draft. If that doesn't happen, the Aussie will then land in the mega auctions where he could be on the radar of many franchises.
