As the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) is heading towards its business end, Kolkata Knight Riders take on Lucknow Super Giants in their last league stage match on Wednesday evening at the DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. Speaking of standings, Lucknow is placed at the third spot while Kolkata is at the sixth after six victories in 13 matches. While Lucknow will be desperate to win the upcoming game to stay eligible for Qualifier 1, Kolkata has a slim chance, but they heavily depend on the results of other teams.

In their last match, Shreyas Iyer's men rode on Andre Russell's all-round brilliance and near-perfect execution from the bowlers to notch up a comprehensive 54-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. While Russell and Sam Billings lifted KKR to 177/6 to set up the win, the top-order again couldn't produce the goods after being reduced to 72 for 3. On the other hand, Lucknow is coming from back-to-back defeats and will look to return to winning ways to remain in contention for the top two spots on the points table.

Lucknow skipper KL Rahul has already urged his teammates to pull up their socks, and Quinton de Kock and Ayush Badoni need to buckle up as the going gets tough. The team will hope better show from both the players in a must-win fixture. Meanwhile, Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya will be key for the team as pitches have started getting spin-friendly.

For Kolkata too, it would be an opportunity to play a brand of fearless cricket something which their head coach Brendon McCullum always looks to advocate. However, that won't come easy as their preferred opener Ajinkya Rahane has been ruled out which means they would have to reshuffle their batting order. Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee will be the pace bowling spearheads while Sunil Narine and Andre Russell with his slower-ball variations could equally be effective.

The upcoming clash will surely be an exciting thriller as both the teams will leave no stone unturned to add points under their belt. Let's look at details regarding when and where to watch the game.
