Indian women’s badminton team sailed into the knockout stage after outplaying USA 4-1 in the Group D match on Tuesday. After defeating Canada, India notched up the second consecutive win to seal their spot in their group to qualify for the quarters. The duo faced defeat in straight sets against the pair of Lee-So-hee and Shin Seung-chan 13-21,12-21 in a 39-minute match.

Indian men’s team led by Lakshya Sen are currently locking horns with Chinese Taipei in their last group stage match. Sen lost the first match against Chou Tien Chen despite fighting hard for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Earlier, the men’s double duo of Satwik and Chirag lost by 21-22, 21-19 against Olympic champions Lee and Wang.
