RR vs DC

Rajasthan Royals will cross swords with Delhi Capitals on Wednesday evening at DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. Both the teams are coming after contrasting results in their previous games. Royals outplayed Punjab Kings while Delhi suffered a massive loss against Chennai Super Kings. With seven wins in eleven games, the Royals are placed in the third position in the points table.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are in the fifth position with five wins in eleven games. DC have not been as consistent as they would have liked this season and they have struggled to keep the winning momentum going. Chennai thrashed them in their last encounter as Devon Conway (67 off 49) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (41 off 33) provided a flying start to their side.

Even Shivam Dube (32 off 19) and MS Dhoni (21 off 8) played blistering knocks to post 208 on board in the fixture. Delhi bowlers leaked too many runs. Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav and Mitchell Marsh finished the game with the economy of 12.67, 14.33 and 11.33, respectively.

Delhi produced a flop show with the bat with David Warner getting out cheaply after scoring just 19 runs in a high-scoring game. Marsh and Rishabh Pant, too, played brief knocks, but the lack of support from the middle-order cost Delhi heavily. Prithvi Shaw is unlikely to join the squad, and it will be interesting to see if Delhi backs Srikar Bharat for the upcoming fixture or not after he failed to impress in the last game.

On the other hand, the Royals successfully chased down 189 runs against Punjab Kings due to an impressive batting display from Yashwasvi Jaiswal (68 off 41) and Jos Buttler (30 off 16) and a blistering end from Shimron Hetmyer (31 off 16). However, Hetmyer had to leave the bio-bubble to be with his family after the birth of his first child.  Apart from their batting, the Men in Pink have a solid bowling lineup in the tournament with Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin and Prasidh Krishna all wicket-taking options.

Comparatively, the Royals look more balanced and inform-team against Delhi Capitals, but it will be interesting to see if Rishabh Pant-led sideshows from a fight in the game to stay relevant in the league or not.
