When are Pakistan's matches in T20 World Cup 2021?

The countdown to the Men's T20 World Cup 2021 has begun. While the groups were decided earlier, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the entire schedule of the tournament on Tuesday. While the Super 12 stage of the marquee event will happen across three venues in UAE- Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, the earlier qualifying matches are set to be staged in Oman. West Indies are the defending champions of the competition after they defeated England in the finals of the tournament. They are also the only team to have won more than one T20 World Cup with India, Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka being the other winners.

The ICC event is scheduled to take place from October 17 to November 14. Pakistan are set to begin their T20 World Cup campaign with the much-anticipated clash against India on October 24. Such intense is the rivalry that the battle is widely regarded as the mother of all contests in cricket. However, so far it has been India who has had the perfect record over the Men in Green in World Cup fixtures. The Babar Azam-led side would look to amend that record and begin their campaign with a win that can set the tempo for the rest of the tournament.

Other than India, Pakistan will face New Zealand, Afghanistan and two more teams who will secure qualification after Round 1 of the tournament. They have reached two finals till date with their best performance coming in 2009 when they defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the final to lift the trophy. They had previously come close in 2007, the inaugural edition of the event, but fell tantalisingly short of the target of 158 set up by India in the titular clash.

Although their record in long-form cricket has been on and off recently, one can't simply discard them as a contender given that it the shortest form of the game where each team can be dangerous on its day. Check out Pakistan's fixtures in T20 World Cup here:
